We all have different images in our mind of yoga, for a lot of us we might think it’s all about bending and twisting yourself like a pretzel in every pose. But yin yoga is as much about your mind as it is about your body. Yin yoga is gentle and calming, while still focusing on the body’s deep tissues:
Yin yoga is a great way to introduce yourself to one of the world’s oldest and most popular forms of exercise.

I have been teaching yoga classes for many years now, but I continue to learn from the practice every day. As a certified yin yoga teacher in Leith, I want to share the boundless joy that yoga has brought to my life over the years–whatever that might look like for you.
Yoga is often split down the middle into two forms: yin and yang. You’ve probably heard of this idea from Taoist philosophy–opposite and complementary principles. Yang yoga's are very active and are focused mainly on your body. Yin yoga is a softer, slower-paced practice, holding postures for longer periods (sometimes as much as five minutes!). Yin yoga can help increase:
